Getting Around

Elgin County is a long narrow county on the north shore of Lake Erie midway between Windsor and Toronto, just south of the City of London. Highway 401, a major east west multi-lane expressway, runs along the entire northern edge of the county. The southern boundry is Lake Erie and features four harbours. Major railways access our industrial parks and keep agriculture, heavy industry and the automotive manufacturing business moving.

Toronto and London have major international airports serving global traffic, while the City of St. Thomas administers a fine regional airport that can accommodate large corporate aircraft from anywhere in the U.S. and Canada.

The City of St. Thomas offers an affordable and convenient alternative to driving within the City with regularly scheduled transit routes. As well Para-Transit systems are available for the physically challenged rider in St. Thomas and West Elgin.
