The history of health care in the county is a testament to Elgin's strong foundation and bright prospects for the future. The hospital offers consistently outstanding health care in addition to being one of the largest employers in the county. Their state-of-the-art Family Centred Maternal Child Care unit, Medical Imaging Centre and access to surgeons are just a few of the notable contributions to health care in Elgin.
Elgin-St. Thomas Health Unit
The Elgin-St. Thomas Health Unit (http://www.elginhealth.on.ca ) has a long dedicated history of providing public health programs and services to our residents. Their goal is to improve the health of all residents by providing programs and services such as Family Health Services, Injury Prevention Awareness, Immunizations, Safe Water Testing, Restaurant Inspections, Breast Cancer Awareness and Sexual Health Clinics among many others. With a staff of approximately 60, we are available to all people who live, work and play in Elgin County through the delivery of effective public health programs and services.
